Ian began his career in 1997 as a steel detailer in the UK and has since progressed into senior digital design leadership roles within consultancy environments, delivering complex, large-scale infrastructure and building projects.
He is currently the CAD Digital Design Manager at PDP, where he leads and supports multidisciplinary drafting teams, oversees digital delivery standards, and drives the ongoing development of CAD and BIM capabilities. His role focuses on ensuring consistency, quality, efficiency, and innovation across projects, while supporting strong project outcomes and a positive client experience.
With a solid technical foundation, Ian brings extensive experience across structural steel detailing, structural drafting, post-tensioning, bridges, concrete, and reinforcing. He has hands-on experience with industry-standard tools including Revit, BIM 360, Tekla, AutoCAD, and MicroStation.
Throughout his career, Ian has balanced technical leadership with people management and project delivery responsibility. Alongside leading teams and mentoring designers and drafters, he oversees drawing quality, QA processes, resourcing, and workflow optimisation.
He is passionate about continuous improvement, digital engineering, and building high-performing teams, with a focus on putting the right systems, resources, and technologies in place to deliver high-quality, reliable outcomes and long-term value for both clients and project teams.
