Hilary is an environmental engineer with over 20 years of experience working on a wide range of projects including for water supply, wastewater, stormwater, landfills, quarries, mines, agricultural land use and irrigation, managed aquifer recharge, construction dewatering and hydropower.
Hilary has specialist skills in managing investigations and assessments relating to groundwater issues, including groundwater-surface water interaction, impacts of abstraction from and discharge to groundwater and contaminant transport through soil and groundwater. She completed her Masters in Civil Engineering in 2004 on groundwater-surface water interaction and has continued to conduct research in this area and provide advice to councils and other organisations. She has prepared national guidelines for drinking water source protection for groundwater and surface water supplies. Hilary regularly presents evidence at consent hearings.
