Intermediate Environmental Planner

We are growing our national team of resource management/environmental planners, and we are looking for an Intermediate Planner to join us in the Auckland, Tauranga, Napier or Christchurch office.  This planner will work across a wide variety of projects to further develop their skills and leadership expertise.

About the role

  • Evaluate statutory and planning implications for various projects.
  • Prepare resource consent applications, plan development/policy analysis and liaise with regional and local authority representatives.
  • Develop planning documents, national policy statements and national environmental standards.
  • Conduct consultation programmes with interest groups including submitters to resource consent applications and policy changes.
  • Write reports and present evidence at hearings.
  • Planning and Project Management work for a range of clients, from local authorities to private companies.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in resource planning or a Postgraduate degree in Environmental Science/Natural Resource Management/Geography.
  • Experience in the planning industry, preferably with a focus on water resources and land management.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of regional and local authority planning in NZ.
  • Strong verbal, inter-personal and written communication skills.
  • Creative thinking and leadership to find innovative and sound solutions for our clients.
  • An attitude and working style that contributes to a collegial, fun and team-player approach with our national team.
