Environmental Engineer
You will help build our 3 waters engineering services to a preeminent position in the Christchurch consulting market where we lead in the development of policy, procedures and innovative design solutions for our clients.
About the Role
- Design of 3 waters infrastructure for local authority and industrial clients.
- Hydrological and hydraulic analysis.
- Civil works design.
- Supervise investigations and construction of works.
- Manage construction contracts including tender preparation, contractor evaluation, budget management, invoice reconciliation and works certification.
- Prepare resource consent applications and liaising with Regional Authority staff.
- Soil/water sampling and testing.
- Write reports on technical work.
- Undertake engineering calculations from first principles and using modelling tools
- Manage projects by co-ordinating subcontractors and liaising with regulators and client contacts.
- Prepare technical papers for presentation at conferences.
- Investigate landfill sites (existing and proposed).
- Work with senior engineers and scientists on all of the above.
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Natural Resources Engineering from a well-recognised university.
- Good interpersonal skills – ability to communicate clearly to clients, engineers, and scientists.
- Excellent written report writing skills.
- Ability to work on several projects at a time.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Self-starter
