Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer

We are looking for a Graduate Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Water Infrastructure team in early 2027. This role is suited to recent graduates or early-career engineers who are looking to build their technical capability while contributing to meaningful water and wastewater projects.

You will work alongside experienced engineers and other disciplines, gaining exposure to a wide range of projects while developing your design, reporting, and site experience.

What you’ll do

• Support the design and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects
• Prepare design calculations and supporting documentation using first principles
• Assist with design reports and technical specifications
• Contribute to construction monitoring and site activities
• Work closely with senior engineers and seek feedback to support your development
• Ensure work meets relevant standards and PDP quality processes
• Support project delivery within agreed timeframes and budgets
• Build relationships with internal teams and clients.

What you’ll bring

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university
• Open to new graduates and candidates with up to 2 years’ relevant experience, including internships or project work
• An Interest in water or infrastructure engineering
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Good attention to detail and a structured approach to work
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn
