Intermediate – Senior Engineer
We work with clients, iwi, and communities to deliver resilient infrastructure and sustainable outcomes. With a growing pipeline of significant projects in Hawke’s Bay, we are seeking a skilled intermediate to senior three-waters engineer to strengthen our local team.
You will contribute to the design and delivery of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects. This role offers the chance to solve complex challenges and make a positive impact on communities and the environment.
About the Role
- Investigate, plan, and design 3 waters infrastructure
- Prepare site- and project-specific Health & Safety plans, including Safety by Design and risk registers.
- Complete investigation reports, design calculations, and design documentation.
- Provide inputs for CAD, BIM, and 3D modelling teams to produce design drawings.
- Apply modelling software such as TUFLOW, InfoWorks ICM, and WSPro (where applicable and able).
- Assist in building and maintaining strong client relationships, supporting ongoing work and identifying new opportunities.
- Prepare tender and contract documentation, including schedules of quantities and engineer’s estimates.
- Ensure technical delivery meets quality, timeliness, and compliance standards.
- Assist with construction monitoring tasks.
- Lead projects across all stages.
- Support business development and represent PDP through conferences and technical publications.
What you’ll bring
- A degree in Civil, Environmental, or Natural Resources Engineering.
- At least 5 years’ experience in municipal or industrial three-waters engineering, including investigation, design, and contract management.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or working towards it.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach.
- Can do attitude.
