Senior Civil Digital Designer

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Digital Designer to join our expanding digital design team within the Water Infrastructure Group. This is a senior technical position with responsibility for delivering high-quality civil digital design and modelling, supporting large water infrastructure and geotechnical teams. You will drive innovation and technical excellence across multidisciplinary projects.
You will:
- Undertake civil design and modelling using AutoCAD Civil 3D to produce CAD models, engineering drawings, visualisations, and digital assets for earthworks, roads, water supply, stormwater, and wastewater infrastructure.
- Collaborate with water infrastructure and geotechnical engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables.
- Prepare drawings in accordance with PDP CAD standards and client specifications.
- Collect and analyse civil data, carry out computations, and prepare construction drawings including plans, sections, details, and contributing to schedules of quantities.
- Liaise with water infrastructure and geotechnical engineers and stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and coordination.
- Support the development and maintenance of CAD libraries, templates, and digital design databases.
- Mentor junior staff in the ongoing developing their digital design skills.
- Contribute to continuous improvement and digital design transformation within PDP.
- Maintain quality control processes to ensure accuracy and reliability of all digital outputs.
What you’ll bring
- A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
- Proven experience in civil design drafting and digital design within an engineering consultancy or technical environment.
- Strong proficiency in AutoDesk digital design tools (AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, Navisworks, Plant 3D).
- Analytical and visualisation skills, with the ability to interpret data and provide workable solutions.
- A passion for ongoing learning, commitment to quality and high attention to detail.
- Willingness to work closely with engineers and be involved with development of engineering design from high level concepts through to detailed construction drawings.
- Ability to adapt to fast-paced, evolving environments and embrace new technologies.
- Strong organisational skills with task prioritisation, multi-tasking, and time management techniques.
