Senior Engineer – Water Infrastructure

As we continue to grow in Wellington, we invite you to join us. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled 3Water Senior Engineer to join our team in Wellington.
We are committed to creating sustainable and resilient water infrastructure and you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects related to water, wastewater and stormwater infrastructure. You will be a key contributor in developing and implementing solutions for complex problems for our clients and the environment.
About the Role
- Investigation, planning and design of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure.
- Familiarity of modelling software such as TUFLOW, InforWorks ICM and WSPro.
- Preparation of Site/project specific Health & Safety plans including Safety by Design and Risk Registers during the design phase.
- Preparation of investigation, design calculations, designs, and design reports
- Provision of the required inputs to the CAD / BIM / 3-D modelling team for the preparation of design drawings.
- Preparation of tender and contact documentation including preparation of schedule of quantities, engineer’s estimate, and safety registers.
- Carry out checks to ensure the technical delivery of projects conforms to the highest standards of quality timeliness, and compliance in all engineering design process and documentation.
- Carry out and assist on construction monitoring tasks.
- Deliver quality outcomes for a range of clients from local authorities to private companies.
- Work across all stages of a project leading and mentoring junior engineers.
- Support business development activities and PDP profile-raising activities including conference presentations and technical publications.
What you’ll bring
- Degree in Civil, Environmental or Natural Resources Engineering.
- Minimum 6 years’ experience in municipal or industrial three-waters engineering investigation, design, and contract management.
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) qualified or at least working towards.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven design leadership skills.
- Creative thinking to find innovative and sound solutions for our clients.
- Ability to justify the approach taken for developing solutions.
- A collegiate, team-player attitude.
