Senior Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to a broad range of projects and further develop expertise in solving geotechnical challenges.  This role can be based in any of our office locations and offers the chance to advance your career while working on meaningful projects.  You will:

  • Plan, execute, and manage geotechnical site investigations for a range of projects including slope instability, pipeline alignments, landfill assessments, and building foundation design.
  • Demonstrate proficiency or working knowledge of geotechnical modelling software including packages from Bentley, GeoLogismiki, Rocscience and AutoCAD. GIS capabilities are considered an advantage.
  • Support the design and analysis of foundations, retaining structures and soil-structure interaction models.
  • Write clear and concise technical reports.
  • Collaborate with junior staff to enhance their technical capabilities and support their growth.
  • Work directly with external clients or provide specialist input to projects across PDP, including slope instability, pipeline route selection, foundations, dams, landfills, wastewater reticulation, and stormwater disposal.

What you’ll bring

  • A degree in Engineering or Geology with a geotechnical specialisation.
  • At least 5 years’ experience in geotechnical projects, including investigations, assessments, and reporting, ideally in consulting.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status, or a pathway and commitment towards achieving it.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent organisation.
  • Creative thinking to develop sound solutions for our clients.
  • A collaborative approach and a positive, proactive attitude.
