Technical Director – Infrastructure Advisory

Dedicated to addressing the country’s most critical infrastructure challenges, we are seeking an accomplished professional in Infrastructure Advisory and Asset Management to join our expanding team.

About the Role

This senior role presents an opportunity to advance our infrastructure advisory and asset management services and shape the delivery of strategic guidance across major asset portfolios, programmes, and projects.

As a key member of our Infrastructure Advisory team, your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with local and central government entities, utilities, industry associations, and regulators
  • Developing frameworks for planning, investment, asset management, decision-making, regulation, and policy.
  • Playing an instrumental role in defining and enhancing our infrastructure advisory capabilities and setting their strategic direction.
  • Collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams and leading strategic initiatives, offering trusted advice to inform infrastructure planning and execution.
  • Fostering team development through mentorship and support as our advisory practice continues to grow.
  • Driving business growth by strengthening client relationships and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Representing and positioning PDP at industry forums and conferences and contributing to sector best practices.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in infrastructure asset management, advisory, management consulting, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated expertise and an established leadership reputation within New Zealand’s infrastructure sector.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Engineering, Business, Science, or relevant discipline.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively.
  • Proven ability to engage clients at senior levels and secure sole-source engagements.
  • Demonstrates strong organisational abilities and effectively manages multiple projects and strict deadlines with a positive mindset, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with curiosity and enthusiasm for team development and innovation.
  • Established professional network and an outstanding track record of winning work and delivering successful client outcomes.
