PDP undertook a geotechnical and seismic desktop assessment for a proposed papakāinga development located on an elevated terrace overlooking Lake Rotoiti. Publicly available information was reviewed in conjunction with a site walkover with the Haumingi 9B3B Ahu Whenua Trust to assess the geotechnical and natural hazards such as liquefaction and slope stability susceptibility associated with the proposed development area. This geotechnical and natural hazard work was used to support a funding application made to Te Tūāpapa Kura Kāinga — Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, to support future stages of the project.
