Palmerston North Airport Wildlife Hazard Management Plan
PDP was engaged to develop a new Wildlife Hazard Management Plan (WHMP) to ensure compliance with CAA Part 139 rule requirements. The project involved a comprehensive assessment of existing habitats and wildlife-related risks at the airport, along with the provision of technical advice to enhance the effectiveness of their ongoing wildlife hazard management program.
The WHMP was designed not only as a compliance tool but also as a practical resource to support staff training. Its aim was to streamline wildlife management procedures, improve operational efficiency, and ensure consistent, science-based decision-making by airport staff carrying our wildlife management roles.
