Providing Expert Support for the New Zealand Aviation Wildlife Hazard Group (NZAWHG)

PDP serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to the NZAWHG on behalf of CAA. The NZAWHG has been active for over nine years and brings together a collaborative group of airports, airlines, pilots, air traffic services, consultants, government agencies such as Department of Conservation (DOC), Fish and Game (F&G), Designated Operational Entity (DOE) and equipment suppliers across the aviation sector. The group’s mission is to enhance aviation and wildlife safety through legislative input, education, the promotion of best practices, adoption of new technologies, and continuous support for its members. 

As the appointed SME, PDP are the only permanent participant in the NZAWHG with technical and environmental/ ecological knowledge which they share with the group contributing in-depth industry expertise to help identify and address emerging challenges, guide strategic discussions, support the ongoing improvement of wildlife hazard management at airports.
