In 2024, Kāinga Ora engaged PDP to deliver comprehensive geotechnical services for a new housing project: a 68-townhouse development and an extension of an existing residential road. Our team carried out a range of technical investigations – to understand the site’s soil and groundwater conditions. We then developed groundwater models and evaluated various factors like static settlements, soil expansion, seismic hazards, foundation, and pile design, retaining wall stability, and subsoil drainage. During early earthworks, we also helped assess soil stabilisation and reuse options through sampling, lab testing, and fill validation. PDP’s inputs facilitated obtaining an earthworks landuse consent for the site. This expertise played a key role in securing resource consents for the project.
