In a Technology and Innovation first PDP has developed a wetland mapping app for Nelson City Council, which forms one of our first official ‘Software as a Service’ offerings to the market. The field app provides for the identification of natural inland wetlands and was developed in collaboration with the Ministry for the Environment, Greater Wellington and Manaaki Whenua.
The App supports the accurate identification and delineation of wetlands which ensures awareness and hence protection of these critical ecological assets enhancing outcomes including for conservation and biodiversity.
The App uses MfE wetland protocols to provide a standardised methodology and helps to both improve workflows and avoid disruptions that can occur with lost or inconsistent field data.
Nelson City Council is an active subscriber, using both our app and the training and support from our team to help them in their work. We hope others will see the benefits and follow.
